Shape GO and UP Express rail operations through fleet management and passenger operations expertise within Metrolinx’s Network Operations Planning team.

This Rail Operations Specialist supports future rail network expansion projects at Metrolinx. The work covers operational requirements, fleet and infrastructure design, contemporary train control, electrification, and project coordination. You will help ensure projects reflect operational needs, safety considerations, and day-to-day railway requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

- Validate requirements for legacy and future rail fleets
- Assess staffing, procedures, training, and equipment impacts
- Review designs for operational constraints and safety considerations
- Support train control and electrification preparedness activities




- Facilitate workshops and represent Network Operations in project groups

Requirements:

- Degree in transportation, planning, business, electrical, communications, or related discipline
- Passenger railway operations experience is an asset
- Railway electrification or electric rolling stock experience is an asset
- Project management and systems requirements experience
- Strong communication, time management, and presentation skills
