Lead Certified Professional project oversight and complex code review with the City of Vancouver’s Development, Building and Licensing department. As a Building Code Specialist, you will make independent technical decisions regarding permitting and the Building By-law. You will ensure Professional Engineer and Architect applicants provide required information, while coordinating plans examination and permit issuance. The position also supports Alternative Solutions and policy advice.

Requirements:

Degree in Architecture or Civil or Mechanical Engineering Registration or eligibility as British Columbia Professional Engineer or Architect Experience interpreting Building By-law, codes, and standards Familiarity with building design and materials Certified Professionals Program completion preferred Use Certified Professional oversight, complex plans examination, and Building By-law knowledge to support Vancouver permitting decisions.
