This full time Critical Care Veterinary Assistant supports RVTs and veterinarians at a 24-hour emergency and referral specialty hospital. The work includes patient care, client communication, sample collection assistance, radiographs, ultrasounds, and hospital cleanliness. Previous or equivalent veterinary clinic experience is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist RVTs and veterinarians with daily patient care
- Perform proper restraint techniques during assessments and treatments
- Support sample collection, radiographs, and ultrasounds
- Feed, walk, and comfort hospitalized patients
- Maintain treatment areas and patient housing cleanliness
Requirements:
- Previous or equivalent veterinary clinic experience
- Availability for 40 hours weekly
- Availability for rotating 12-hour shifts, including overnights
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask in a hospital setting
