If you’re energized by massive scale, deep technical complexity, and the opportunity to shape the next era of compute, this is your moment. Join a team where groundbreaking work meets competitive compensation, meaningful impact, and a chance to accelerate your career at the forefront of AI innovation. IREN is a vertically integrated AI Cloud provider, delivering large-scale data centers and GPU clusters for AI training and inference. With 100% renewable energy, we build, own and operate our data centers and take pride in being at the forefront of sustainable solutions for the ever-evolving applications of high-performance compute. We believe that human progress is invaluable, but it should be done in the right way: responsibly, sustainably and having a positive impact on the communities we operate in. This position is based in office in Mackenzie, BC, supporting the Mackenzie Air-Cooled Project and the upcoming Optimization Project at our operating data center site. It is a camp-based role working a 14 days on / 7 days off (14&7) rotation. Camp accommodations, meals, and site transportation are provided during on-rotation periods. The Document Controller owns the construction record for the Mackenzie expansion. Reporting to the Construction Manager, you run document control for a live, multi-discipline site: drawings and revisions, RFIs, submittals, transmittals, inspection and test records, non-conformances, and the turnover packages that hand each system from construction to commissioning and operations. You make sure the field builds only to current controlled documents, that every record is captured and traceable, and that nothing is energized or turned over without the paperwork to prove it is ready.
You work daily with the Superintendents, QA/QC Inspectors, Project Scheduler, contractors, and IREN's project controls and engineering teams. Controlled Documents: maintain the master document register and revision control; retire superseded documents from the field and confirm only current revisions are in use. Transmittals & Workflow: Manage transmittals between IREN, the Engineer of Record, contractors, and vendors; Quality Records: Capture inspection reports, test records, ITP sign-offs, NCRs, and deficiency registers from the QA/QC Inspectors and contractors; verify completeness and file to the project structure. Assemble and verify system turnover packages (test reports, inspection records, as-builts, O&M; manuals, warranties) for substantial completion and handover to commissioning and Operations. Filing Structure & Tools: Own the site SharePoint filing structure and any document management platform (Procore, Aconex, or similar); set naming conventions and train the site team to use them. Maintain document control logs and metrics (open RFIs, overdue submittals, turnover readiness); support internal and external audits and the weekly project reporting. Site Support: Back up the CMT Administrator on daily reporting and site administration when required.
5+ years of document control experience on industrial, energy, or mission-critical construction projects, including at least one project through turnover and handover. ~ Hands-on experience with a document management platform (Procore, Aconex, SharePoint-based systems, or similar) and strong Microsoft 365 skills, especially Excel. ~ Working knowledge of construction document types and workflows: drawing revisions, RFIs, submittals, transmittals, ITPs, NCRs, and turnover packages. ~ Clear written and verbal communication, comfortable working with trades, superintendents, engineers, and head office. ~ Ability to work on-site in Mackenzie, BC on a 14&7 camp rotation; camp/remote-site experience an asset. Prior document control on a data center, substation, or industrial brownfield site. Experience with completions and commissioning platforms and tagged-system turnover. Site administration or project controls experience. Valid Class 5 driver's licence. Make a measurable impact on the performance and reliability of global AI workloads At IREN,
