Deliver compassionate patient testing with Dynacare as a Laboratory Assistant - FLOAT in Peterborough, Kingston, and surrounding Ontario communities.
This permanent part-time position guarantees 15 hours weekly, with day shifts Monday through Saturday. You will obtain quality specimens, conduct tests, and create positive patient experiences. The work includes accurate documentation, specimen processing, and support for departmental quality metrics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create best-in-class customer experiences for patients
- Perform venipuncture and obtain blood and other specimens
- Sort and steer specimens for laboratory transportation
- Complete ECGs, Holter hookups, and collection procedures
- Prepare documentation according to established protocols
Requirements:
- Completed Secondary School education
- Laboratory Assistant or Medical Lab Assistance training
- Demonstrated phlebotomy skill and patient reassurance ability
- Strong attention to detail and deadline-oriented self-management
- Transparent written and verbal English communication
