Operate e-beam lithography and semiconductor fabrication equipment in Ottawa, supporting hands-on wafer processing across night or weekend shifts.

The National Research Council is hiring Technical Officers for the Canadian Photonics Fabrication Centre. This term position supports semiconductor prototype development and pre-commercial production in a class 100–1000 cleanroom. You will contribute to III-V wafer fabrication, process documentation, and client project schedules.

Key Responsibilities:

- Support semiconductor prototype and pre-commercial production activities
- Perform e-beam lithography and related wafer fabrication processes
- Process indium phosphide substrates for client projects
- Follow manufacturing execution system instructions and schedules




- Operate equipment safely while maintaining quality standards

Requirements:

- Post-secondary education in electronic engineering technology or related science
- At least six years supporting III-V wafer fabrication processes
- Two to five years operating complex semiconductor manufacturing equipment
- Six to twelve months analyzing process or metrology data
- Availability for night or weekend shifts and cleanroom PPE
