Advise Plan International Canada through corporate agreements, regulatory compliance, and risk analysis in a hybrid office and home workplace. Support operations, partnerships, and growth initiatives with practical legal guidance.
This legal counsel position reports to the General Counsel and Safeguarding Focal Point. The Legal Department supports programs, marketing, philanthropy, communications, finance, IT, and Talent & Culture. Your work spans commercial contracts, international program agreements, privacy, employment law, governance, and safeguarding matters.
Key Responsibilities: Draft, review, and negotiate corporate, grant, and partnership agreements
Provide risk-based advice on contracts, charity law, and compliance
Support creative funding models and public-private partnerships
Advise on employment, privacy,



intellectual property, and safeguarding matters
Manage legal files independently from intake through execution
Requirements: Juris Doctor or LL.B. and Ontario law society membership
Three to five years of corporate law experience in Ontario
Commercial agreement drafting, reviewing, and negotiation proficiency
Strong issue spotting, risk analysis, and communication skills
Ability to manage complex files and competing demands independently
Apply corporate law, contract negotiation, and regulatory judgment while supporting Plan International Canada’s operations and partnerships.
