The Critical Care Clinical Assistant supports patients in the Critical Care Unit and assesses patients needing critical care consultation elsewhere. This resident-level position suits physicians entering or enrolled in PGY 3 programs with exposure to critically ill patients. Responsibilities include rounds, procedures, patient issue management, and Code Blue leadership.
Key Responsibilities: Support patients in the Critical Care Unit
Assess and treat critical care consultations across hospital areas
Assist with daily rounds and critical care procedures




Manage patient issues while on call
Lead in-hospital Code Blue events
Requirements: Enrolled or entering PGY 3 in a relevant resident program
Exposure to critically ill patients through residency training
Recent intensive care unit rotations completed
ACLS completed within the past two years
In-house presence required during assigned shifts
Support critical care consultations, procedures, and Code Blue responses at Lakeridge Health Oshawa with recent ICU experience and ACLS.
