About the Role Our client, a leader in advanced polymer materials, is seeking an experienced Senior Process Engineer specializing in polymerization to join their creative team. This role, based in Kimberley, Northern Cape , offers a hybrid work model, blending essential on-site process analysis and collaboration with remote data review and project planning. You will be responsible for optimizing polymerization processes, ensuring product quality, and driving efficiency improvements. The ideal candidate possesses a strong foundation in polymer chemistry and chemical engineering principles, with a proven ability to troubleshoot and innovate in a complex manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities Develop, optimize, and scale-up polymerization processes to meet production targets and quality specifications.
Monitor process parameters, analyze data, and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost reduction.
Troubleshoot process issues, conduct root cause analyses, and implement effective corrective actions.
Design and execute pilot plant trials and scale-up studies for new polymer products and processes.
Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and quality standards.
Collaborate with R&D;, production, and quality assurance teams to support product development and manufacturing excellence.
Prepare technical reports, process documentation,



and presentations for management and project teams.
Stay current with advancements in polymerization technologies and chemical engineering practices.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.
Requirements Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or Polymer Science.
A minimum of 7 years of experience in process engineering, with a significant focus on polymerization processes.
In-depth understanding of polymer chemistry, reaction kinetics, and reactor design.
Experience with process simulation software and statistical analysis tools.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a hybrid team setting.
Familiarity with polymer characterization techniques is a plus.
Residentially based in or willing to commute to Kimberley, Northern Cape .
