This Fire Protection Engineer position addresses fire and explosion prevention across industrial sectors, including mining, energy, and wood products. You will assess risks, review regulations, select technologies, and contribute to implementation. The role also includes technical project management, proposal preparation, and client relationship development.
Key Responsibilities: Classify hazardous areas involving gas and dust
Prepare fire protection criteria and technical specifications
Size piping systems for fire water distribution loops
Coordinate hydrant locations with civil engineering teams
Support senior staff on complex technical assignments
Requirements: Mechanical or Chemical Engineering bachelor’s degree
OIQ membership
Knowledge of NFPA, National Building, and National Fire Codes
Relevant project management and cost estimation experience
ASP Construction certification or card is an asset
