As a Staff Software Engineer, you will work daily in complex processing systems that route and authorize card transactions. You will shape designs, mentor engineers, and guide technical direction while strengthening performance, reliability, and cost efficiency. The role requires expertise in Java, concurrency, performance, and reliable systems at scale.
Key Responsibilities: Write and review production code across routing and processing systems
Lead initiatives improving platform speed, reliability, and cost efficiency
Shape data models, degradation strategies, and blast-radius containment




Raise engineering standards across mission-critical codebases
Mentor engineers and guide technical direction at Staff level
Requirements: Eight or more years of engineering experience
Expert Java skills with concurrency and performance fundamentals
Experience designing systems and operating them in production
Background in regulated, cloud-native, high-availability environments
Payment processing, card issuing, or network integration experience
