NanoTess is oneof Canada's fastest-growing healthcare innovation scale-ups.
Built on socialenterprise values, our skin and wound care technology is used by clinicians andpatients across Canada, and we hear remarkable stories of healing every day.
As we grow acrossCanada and into international markets, we are looking for a Strategy Lead tohelp us solve the problems that matter most today and build the capabilities wewill need tomorrow.
You will workclosely with the Founders and Strategy team to turn broad questions into clearchoices, focused projects, and measurable progress. One project might unlockreimbursement or coverage. The next could shape a new market launch, assess aproduct opportunity, or help a team prepare for its next stage of growth.
This is ahands-on role for someone who is comfortable with ambiguity and enjoys learningquickly. You will help define the problem, find the evidence that matters, recommend a practical path, and do the work required to move it forward. Yourcontribution will be visible in decisions made, barriers removed, and projectsdelivered.
Your focus willevolve with the needs of the business and the experience you bring. Projectsmay span financial, commercial, people, product, clinical, and operationalstrategy. You will work alongside the people who know these areas, bringingstructure and momentum while drawing on their expertise.
Here’s what you'll own: Bring structure to ambiguity. Turn open-ended challenges into clear problem statements, actionable plans, and practical recommendations.
Focus effort where it matters . Help the Founders and Strategy team assess competing priorities against patient impact, revenue potential, cost, risk, capacity, and longer-term value. Make tradeoffs visible and recommend what to pursue, sequence, pause, or stop.
Unlock market access. Map reimbursement, coverage, procurement, and adoption pathways. Identify the stakeholders, evidence, partnerships, and submissions needed to remove access barriers, then coordinate the work required to advance them.
Shape market and product launches. Assess new geographies, customer segments, and product lines. Build business cases and launch plans covering demand, positioning, access requirements, routes to market, economics, resourcing, and milestones.
Find and develop the right partnerships. Map potential clinical, commercial, research, funding,
and implementation partners. Clarify mutual value, prioritize relationships, and support outreach, diligence, and project development.
Carry strategy into delivery. Lead agreed projects from scoping through implementation, with clear owners, milestones, dependencies, and measures of success. Resolve barriers, surface decisions early, and adapt the approach as new information emerges.
Help teams prepare for growth. Work with functional leads to identify capability, role, process, and coordination gaps. Support team development, clearer ownership, and practical systems that strengthen execution as the business scales.
Connect insight across the business. Bring customer, partner, clinical, market, financial, quality, and operating insights for the broader NanoTess team into strategic decisions.
Build for the future. Track developments that could change our opportunities or risks. Turn project learning into documented decisions, tools, and repeatable processes so capabilities stay with the business as people and priorities evolve.
Here’s what success will look like: The strategy team have explicit options, credible recommendations, and timely support on the decisions that matter most.
Market access requirements and barriers to growth are identified and addressed.
Priority projects have clear ownership and move from analysis to implementation, with measurable progress toward access, growth, or stronger business capability.
Teams understand where to focus, why it matters, and how their work connects to the wider business.
Market, product, and partnership opportunities are evaluated before significant resources are committed.
NanoTess meets current business needs while developing the people, processes, and options required for its next stage.
Here's what our ideal candidate looks like: You have experience solving complex business problems and taking cross-functional projects through to implementation. Previous management consulting experience is preferred, particularly where you worked closely with clients to put recommendations into practice.
You are comfortable with ambiguity. You can make progress when the brief is incomplete, priorities shift, or the right answer requires judgment as well as analysis.
You can move between the big picture and the detail: framing a strategic choice, building a model, speaking with a stakeholder, and following up on a project dependency.
You bring depth in one or more relevant areas and the curiosity to learn others. Market access, commercialization, finance, organizational development, product, clinical research, or operations experience would be valuable. You do not need to be an expert in every area
You are analytically strong and commercially practical. You can assess market potential, interpret financial information, test assumptions, and communicate uncertainty without losing the ability to recommend a path.
You create focus within real constraints. You can distinguish work that changes a decision or outcome from work that adds detail, and you know when to seek specialist input.
You communicate clearly and build trust across founders, functional leads, clinicians, partners, and teammates. You can challenge assumptions respectfully and influence progress without relying on formal authority.
You take ownership, close loops, and follow through. You are willing to research, write, coordinate, and build with the resources available today.
You understand that our work touches people’s lives. You bring sound judgment, discretion, and care to how you handle evidence, relationships, and business commitments.
You are legally authorized to work in Canada, able to work full-time from our Calgary headquarters, and comfortable travelling as the role requires.
Here’s what you can expect from NanoTess aside from salary and benefits: A meaningful leadership mandate with the opportunity to shape how NanoTess grows.
A hands-on role where your judgment, initiative, and direct contribution will be visible.
A fast-paced workplace where priorities evolve as we learn and scale.
A collaborative team that cares deeply about the people affected by our work.
An opportunity to build relationships across Canada and international markets.
A chance to help more people access technology designed to reduce barriers to healing.
Thank you for taking the time to share your story with us. We look forward to getting to know you.
