Serials Technician expertise supports bibliographic control and collection development at the Library of Parliament in a hybrid work setting. Bilingual English and French communication is required.
Reporting to the Manager, Collection Development, this LT-04 position manages library resources supporting parliamentary access to reliable information. The work includes integrated library systems, holdings data, MARC 21, and resource processing. A Reliability security clearance is required.
Key Responsibilities: Update bibliographic records and collection-related data
Maintain quality control for assigned serials and holdings
Process materials and prepare inventory documentation
Review orders, vendor communications, claims, and cancellations
Support system testing,



process improvements, and collection projects
Requirements: Diploma in Library and Information Technology or related field
Experience using integrated library systems for acquisitions
Experience processing, tracking, and withdrawing library materials
Knowledge of bibliographic control and collection management
Knowledge of MARC 21 bibliographic and holdings data
Apply serials management, information systems, and quality control expertise to strengthen parliamentary collection access at the Library of Parliament.
