Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, theElectrical Engineering Technician is responsible for monitoring,maintaining, and troubleshooting electromechanical equipment(motors, electrical wiring, machine tools, lifting equipment). Theincumbent may also make modifications to machinery. They ensurecompliance with hygiene and safety procedures related tomaintenance activities and communicate with skilled tradespeople,operators, supervisors, planners, and equipmentsuppliers.KeyResponsibilities Perform preventive and corrective maintenance andmonitoring of equipment (motors, wiring, machine tools, liftingequipment, etc.).Respond to production service calls and providefast, efficient service to minimize downtime.Diagnose and resolve electrical failures andmalfunctions.Participate in the modification, improvement, andinstallation of new production lines andequipment.Ensure compliance with SQF, HACCP, and occupationalhealth and safety standards and regulations.Collaborate with operators, supervisors, planners,and equipment suppliers.Participate in the design, development, and testingof electrical, electronic, computerized,



and automatedsystems.Supervise the construction and testing of prototypesaccording to established standards.Install and commission electrical and electronicequipment and systems.Conduct testing and performance analysis ofcomponents.Contribute to applied research in electricalengineering, electronics, or physics. CandidateProfileEducationDiploma of Vocational Studies (DEP) or CollegeDiploma (DEC) in Electromechanics, Electrical Engineering,Industrial Electronics, or a relatedfield.Experience2 to 5 years of industrial maintenance experience(manufacturing or food processing environment considered anasset). TechnicalSkills Knowledge of programmable logic controllers(PLCs).Ability to read and interpret electrical andmechanical drawings.Strong troubleshooting and problem-solvingskills.Knowledge of SQF, HACCP, and Occupational Health andSafety (OHS) standards. PersonalQualities Solid attention to detail, autonomy, and sense ofresponsibility.Team-oriented with effective communicationskills.Ability to work under pressure and manage competingpriorities.
