ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES We are seeking an Optical Engineer for a photonic integrated circuits design firm, who would act as the Simulation SME and Lead. This would be a great opportunity for someone with experience in circuit simulation and optical device design looking to further their career in integrated photonics.
Simulate photonic integrated circuits using commercial tools (RSoft, Lumerical) and custom Python code; automate design optimization and parameter sweeps
Design and layout optical devices (AWGs, optical hybrids, polarization splitters) across silica, silicon nitride, and silicon photonics platforms
Validate designs through measurement correlation, convergence analysis, and linking measured performance to fabrication variables
Lead optical characterization; define test plans and guide technicians in equipment operation and data quality procedures
