Support anesthesia care at UHN’s Toronto General and Toronto Western Hospitals through surgical expertise, patient monitoring, and anesthetic support. Permanent full time work includes weekday and weekend shifts.
As an Anesthesia Assistant, you will work under Anesthesiologist direction within UHN’s Surgical Program, Anesthesia department. The position supports surgical and non-surgical patients across Operating Room, Peri-Operative, and Post-Operative units. You will coordinate treatment plans with multidisciplinary teams and follow medical directives, protocols, policies, and orders.
Key Responsibilities: Participate in care during general, regional, or local anesthesia
Provide anesthetic support across peri-operative and post-operative units
Maintain anesthesia care plans and administer gases or medications




Manage intravenous and arterial lines during anesthesia care
Monitor anesthesia depth and assist with crisis management
Requirements: Graduate Respiratory Therapy or Nursing program completion
Registration with Ontario’s respiratory therapists’ or nurses’ college
Michener Anesthesia Assistant Program completion or equivalent enrollment
CCAA designation, or active progress toward acquiring it
Critical care or operating room experience as an RRT or RN
Bring regulated clinical experience, anesthesia training, and patient-monitoring skills to UHN’s Operating Room and peri-operative teams.
