Temporary Full Time
Salary Range: $29.76 - $35.00 /hour
This is a part-time temporary position expected to extend until March 12, 2028, subject to the availability of work.
Essential Qualifications Diploma in recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation or other related field
Long term care experience
Smart serve certificate
Food and Handler's certificate
Class F License or ability to obtain within the 3 month probationary period
Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with the OHSA
Demonstrated ability to work with individuals with a variety of medical conditions and a variety of ages
Previous experience working with volunteers
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Solid interpersonal and organizational skills
Knowledge of computer systems (Microsoft Office, Outlook)
Ability to work independently as well as in an interdisciplinary team setting
Knowledge of the Leisure Well Being Model
A police record check completed within the last six (6)



months from a Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC), inclusive of vulnerable sector screening, will be required of the successful candidate
Preferred Qualifications Proficiency in French would be an asset
Bachelor's Degree within Therapeutic Recreation or Recreation and Leisure or related health field with a concentration in Therapeutic Recreation
Health care setting experience
Member in Therapeutic Recreation Ontario (TRO)

Immunization Requirements Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps rubella, varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, COVID-19 and influenza.
Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing
