Provide resident nutrition and hydration care as a Registered Dietitian with Extendicare in a full-time position. Assess needs, prescribe interventions, and document care.
The Registered Dietitian supports nutrition and hydration care for residents in compliance with regulatory standards and Extendicare policies. Responsibilities include assessing nutrition status, developing care plans, monitoring risk, and coordinating follow-up. The RD also supports residents, caregivers, families, and substitute decision makers through counseling and education.
Key Responsibilities: Assess residents’ nutrition status on admission and annually
Determine nutrition and hydration risk levels
Develop and modify resident nutrition care plans




Document nutrition care for followed residents
Approve menus and oversee feeding programs
Requirements: University degree in Food and Nutrition
Current registration with applicable provincial College of Dietitians
One to two years’ relevant experience an asset
Membership in Dietitians of Canada and Gerontology Network
Robust communication, critical thinking, and care coordination skills
Apply registered dietetics expertise, nutrition assessment, and care planning to support Extendicare residents’ wellbeing and hydration needs.
