This Purchaser works within the Materials Management team supporting steel building systems for recreational, commercial, and industrial markets. The position handles assigned commodity analysis, purchasing, negotiation, and expediting. It also supports order placement, receiving, G/L coding, and required documentation under established procedures.
Key Responsibilities: Purchase materials and services at appropriate volumes
Analyze assigned commodities and negotiate pricing
Assist with order placement and receiving
Process expediting activities and G/L coding
Verify and record forms and documents
Requirements: Two to three years purchasing materials experience
Steel manufacturing experience is a significant asset
Accounting experience is beneficial
Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs
Ability to manage deadlines and changing priorities
Bring materials purchasing, commodity analysis, and order expediting experience to Behlen Industries’ steel manufacturing operations.
