Operate specialized rail inspection vehicles with Sperry Rail as a field-based CDL Driver traveling extensively throughout Canada. Support safety-critical testing operations.
This CDL Driver position operates hi-rail trucks and rail-bound detector cars on roadways and railroad tracks. The work includes rail flaw detection testing, data collection, onboard computer monitoring, and ground-level inspections. Drivers follow DOT and FRA regulations while supporting vehicle maintenance and crew communication.
Key Responsibilities: Travel within assigned regions for three to four months
Operate hi-rail trucks and rail-bound detector cars
Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
Assist with rail flaw detection testing and data collection
Report safety concerns and equipment issues promptly
Requirements: Valid Class 5 or higher CDL with air brake endorsement
Two or more years of commercial driving experience preferred
Ability to meet physical demands, including lifting up to 85 pounds
Ability to pass required health assessments and background checks
Robust verbal and written communication skills
