Process recyclable metal with ABC Recycling using excavator attachments, mobile shears, and careful material handling in Burnaby, BC.
This full-time, year-round Shear Operator position supports ABC Recycling’s metal recycling operations. You will operate a mid-sized excavator with Labounty shear, bucket, and thumb attachments while meeting customer specifications. The work also includes material movement, risk assessment, minor maintenance, and process improvement participation.
Key Responsibilities: Process and sort recyclable materials using multiple attachments
Move materials through bins, dumps, trailers, and rail cars
Complete minor lubrication and shear maintenance tasks
Contribute to process design and improvement solutions




Self-manage while operating at off-site locations
Requirements: Two-plus years operating excavators, material handlers, or wheel loaders
Experience operating bucket and thumb attachments
Scrap recycling, demolition, or shear experience is an asset
Strong hand-eye coordination and mechanical aptitude
Valuable interpersonal and customer service skills
Use equipment expertise, material sorting knowledge, and mechanical aptitude to support safe recycling operations for ABC Recycling customers.
