Build gas distribution skills with FortisBC as a full-time Distribution Assistant, learning pipefitting, welding, and safe field operations across British Columbia.
This full-time regular role supports construction, maintenance, and operation of the Gas Distribution system. You will assist with distribution pipes, fittings, repairs, and alterations while receiving classroom and on-the-job training. Training also covers safety, customer service, and software applications.
Key Responsibilities: Assist with installing distribution pipes, fittings, and related components
Support repairs and alterations to existing mains and services
Learn welding and pipefitting skills through hands-on training
Use required tools, procedures, equipment,



and instruments
Complete time slips, trucking slips, and simple work forms
Requirements: High school, Grade 12, or GED graduation
Valid Class 5 BC driver’s license and safe driving record
Mechanical aptitude and initiative
Demonstrated secure work habits and responsibility
Ability to walk, bend, lift, and work outdoors
Develop gas operations expertise through FortisBC training while supporting safe distribution construction, maintenance, and customer service.
