As an Operations Accountant, you will contribute during an eighteen-month term within Surge Energy’s accounting department. Your work includes reviewing and recording JIBs, non-operated royalties, account reconciliations, payout statements, and operational results. The position suits an oil and gas accounting skilled who communicates effectively across departments.
Key Responsibilities: Review and record JIBs and non-operated royalties
Investigate and resolve partner queries with the JV Accounting team
Assist monthly operational reporting, analysis, and variance reviews
Review and update allocation cost centers regularly




Collect and provide data for internal and external audits
Requirements: At least two to five years of oil and gas experience
Diploma in Accounting or related discipline preferred
Strong experience with Qbyte FM, Optix, CS Land, and Execute
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel capability
Detail orientation and effective multi-department communication
Use joint venture accounting, operational analysis, and partner query resolution skills within Surge Energy’s Calgary operations.
