Operate heavy equipment for the Township of Oro-Medonte in Ontario, using trucks, loaders, excavators, and snowplow attachments. Full time work supports public operations.
The Equipment Operator reports to the Operations Division within Operations & Community Services. This position requires construction equipment operation, large commercial motor vehicle competency, and knowledge of maintenance and construction practices. Winter afternoon shifts may support operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities: Operate front-end loaders, excavators, skid steers, and tractors
Drive trucks with dump boxes, sanders, and snowplow wings
Review and follow up on directed work orders
Respond to emergency roadside tree removal
Install barricades for road closures and detours
Requirements: Grade 12 or equivalent and two years related experience
Valid Ontario Class DZ driver’s licence
Satisfactory driver’s abstract
Ability to perform physical duties using heavy equipment
Availability for flexible, standby, and on-call shifts
Bring municipal operations, equipment handling, and commercial driving skills to public works service in Oro-Medonte.
