The Commercial Management Liability Underwriting Intern supports North America Underwriting teams during a structured development initiative. You will learn alongside experienced underwriters while assisting with insured exposure analysis, competitor research, renewal lists, and broker submissions. The program also includes leadership learning, networking activities, and a project presentation.
Key Responsibilities: Assist underwriters with insured exposure and operational analysis
Compile competitor analysis using publicly available databases
Help develop renewal lists with Underwriting Assistants
Contact brokers regarding submissions
Accompany underwriters during meetings and marketing calls
Requirements: Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or graduate degree program
Maintain minimum 3.0 GPA throughout the internship
Be a rising junior or senior
Demonstrate insurance career interest and analytical skills
Use Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint confidently
Develop commercial management liability underwriting knowledge through Sompo mentoring, broker contact, analysis, and structured skilled learning.
