Serve Vancouver’s Downtown East Side through pastoral presence, street outreach ministry, and client-focused care for marginalized individuals. This full time position operates between the streets and St James.
The Street Outreach Priest also serves as Associate Priest of St James, Vancouver. Ministry is rooted in an Anglo-Catholic, Christ-centred sacramental life and engages people affected by trauma, poverty, mental illness, addiction, and systemic injustice. The work brings the altar to the street and the street to the altar.
Key Responsibilities: Walk Vancouver’s streets with marginalized individuals
Offer client-focused pastoral street outreach ministry
Remind people of their infinite value before God
Collaborate with multiple social service providers




Respond to medical emergencies and administer life-saving interventions
Requirements: Capacity to engage high-stress social situations
Emotional intelligence, resilience, and relational strength
Empathetic, non-judgemental approach to ministry
Commitment to reconciliation, justice, and inclusion
Ability to work outdoors through demanding conditions
