There's a difference between being valuable at preparing tax returns and being given the opportunity to understand the planning behind them.
This role gives you the chance to do both.
You'll join an established independent CPA firm in Fonthill, working with a wide-ranging portfolio of privately held businesses, entrepreneurs, professionals and individuals across the Niagara Region.
The firm has a strong tax practice covering corporate and personal taxation, tax planning and business advisory. You'll work closely with experienced Managers and Partners, taking greater ownership of client files while developing your experience beyond day-to-day compliance.
Why consider it:
$80,000–$100,000 salary
Hybrid working in Fonthill
Established independent CPA firm with a varied client base
Exposure to tax planning, corporate reorganizations and advisory
Direct client responsibility and close involvement with Partners
Long-term career development and progression opportunities
What you'll be doing:
Prepare and review T2 corporate, T1 personal and T3 trust tax returns
Assist with tax planning, corporate reorganizations and succession matters
Research Canadian tax legislation and prepare tax elections
Manage client files, respond to CRA correspondence and identify tax planning opportunities
Review junior staff work and support Managers and Partners on more complex engagements
What they're looking for:
3+ years of Canadian public accounting experience
Strong corporate and personal tax background
CPA designation or actively working towards completion
Good knowledge of Canadian income tax legislation
Some tax planning exposure or a genuine interest in developing this further
Comfortable communicating directly with clients and supporting junior staff
We support the CPA firms we partner with in building diverse, inclusive and equitable workplaces.
