Appointment Details The base salary range for Contract Lectures hired August 16, 2026 through August 15, 2027 is $79,644.07 to $101,855.82 per annum.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications.

Contract amounts are calculated based on the number of semester hours in the appointment.

Course Information Course Semester/Term Hours/Section Estimated Number of Students PCS181 Winter 2027 3 semester hours 90 a) A full workload half-sessional appointment is for 15 hours in any one semester. b) A reduced workload half-sessional appointment is for at least 9 but less than 15 semester hours in any one semester. c) A part-time hourly appointment / one semester is for less than 9 hours in any one semester.

Course delivery in Winter 2027 will be in person.

Candidates hired for in-person courses will be required to carry out their teaching on campus.

Additionally, if you are also teaching other courses that do not academically require AA support, you will receive further correspondence setting out your options if you are eligible for extra student pay as outlined in Article 17 of the Unit 1 Collective Agreement.

Education Ph.D. in Physics or equivalent in field related to target course.

Teaching Experience Teaching target or similar course at Toronto Metropolitan University undergraduate program or another university undergraduate program.

Practice field experience Current (past 3 years) practice in the field of Physics.

Teaching Skills Demonstrated experience of ability to effectively teach in an environment which includes demonstrated knowledge of best practices for the delivery & management of courses, including using course management system tools to communicate with students and to foster and support a cooperative learning community with and between students in the course.

Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in all aspects of personal computers that are relevant to course delivery and online D2L system.

Currency Academic publications (refereed) in past 3 years.

Other demonstrated professional currency (practitioner writing, courses taken).

Interactive Skills The following will be rated based on previous teaching ratings/evaluations: Lecture presentation Email Interaction Follow through with assignments/evaluations
