This Senior Accountant supports business operations within the Financial Services Department. The work includes financial advice, budget proposals, performance reporting, and analytical reviews for ongoing, multi-year, and one-time needs. You will coordinate submissions and develop reports supporting operational decisions.
Key Responsibilities: Provide financial advice to client operations and business partners
Develop strategies for operational budget proposals and submissions
Coordinate financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and performance reporting
Prepare reports and analysis for projects and emergent requests




Support strategic decisions through complex financial analytics
Requirements: Canadian CPA, CA, CMA, or CGA designation required
At least five years of related accounting experience
Experience with financial management and variance reporting
Solid analytical, conceptual problem-solving, and communication skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Bring senior accounting, forecasting, budgeting, and analytical reporting capabilities to the City of Edmonton’s operational finance work.
