JobDescription
Under the supervision of the supervisor, theForklift Operator / General Labourer plays an essential role in thewarehousing and order fulfillment operations of a distributioncenter where temperatures range from 4°C to -25°C. Mainresponsibilities include:
- Operating Raymond/Crown forklifts;
- Operating a stand-up electric reach forklift inreverse drive mode while following all safety procedures (fullstops, blind spots, appropriate speed, etc.);
- Loading and unloading trucks using aforklift;
- Picking and locating products at height, requiringprecision and stability;
- Preparing customer orders;
- Lifting, handling, and manually placing boxesweighing up to approximately 60 lb (27 kg) on a repetitive basisthroughout the shift to fulfill orders;
- Verifying quantities;
- Using an electronic scanner to confirm that eachorder matches customer requirements;
- Performing visual and numerical productverification;
- Carrying out any other relatedduties.
Requirements
- Must be 16 years of age or older (in accordance withOccupational Health and Safety regulations);
- Ability to lift loads of approximately 60 lb (27kg);
- Ability to work in a refrigerated and frozenenvironment (4°C to-25°C).
