Job Overview

Wildland Firefighters – Type 2 and Type 3 Crews (2027 Season)

Grey Cat Timber Ltd is a Campbell River–based company with wildfire contracts in British Columbia and Alberta and operating locations across BC. We provide danger tree fallers, danger tree assessors, FALCOs and danger tree specialists to wildfire operations, and our team has spent hundreds of days on active fires. We’re now growing and looking to add valuable people to our Type 2 and Type 3 wildland firefighting crews for the 2027 season.

Crew members work on active wildfires around the province, building fireguard, running pumps and hose, and doing mop-up and patrol. The work is physically demanding, with long days in steep terrain and all kinds of weather, and deployments of up to 14 days in camp. We’re looking for people who are fit,

hardworking and reliable, who work well as part of a team and take safety seriously. Firefighting, forestry or outdoor work experience is an asset but not required. We’ll help the right people get the training they need, and we welcome applicants who already hold the required wildfire training.

If you’re looking for meaningful, hard work with a crew that has your back, we’d like to hear from you. Send your resume to [email protected] with “Type 2/3 Crew” in the subject line, and tell us a bit about yourself and any related experience.

Pay: From $25.00 per hour
