Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Tax Preparer to join our agile financial team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate tax returns for individuals and small businesses, ensuring compliance with current tax laws and regulations. Responsibilities

- Prepare federal, state, and local tax returns for individual clients and small businesses using various accounting software tools such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, and others.
- Review financial documents, including income statements, balance sheets, and bank statements to gather necessary data for accurate tax filing.
- Conduct thorough analysis of client financial information to identify potential deductions, credits, and savings opportunities.
- Assist clients with understanding their tax obligations and provide guidance on tax planning strategies to optimize future filings.
- Ensure compliance with current tax laws by staying updated on legislative changes and applying relevant regulations during the preparation process.




- Reconcile accounts and perform audits of financial records to ensure accuracy before submitting tax documents.
- Support bookkeeping activities such as accounts payable, account reconciliation, payroll processing, and budgeting when needed.

Requirements

- Proven experience with accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms.
- Strong analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately.
- Knowledge of auditing procedures and experience conducting financial reviews or audits.
- Familiarity with financial services industry practices and regulations related to taxation.
- Excellent attention to detail combined with organizational skills to manage multiple client files efficiently.
- Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and professionally to clients.
- Basic understanding of investment concepts, payroll processing, accounts payable, and bookkeeping processes is preferred.

Pay: $16.35-$22.00 per hour
