Slo Coffee is hiring Part-Time Pastry Assistants to join our Slo Coffee Commissary Team in Burnaby (5279 Still Creek Ave Unit A5, Burnaby, BC V5C 5V1). Working alongside the Commissary Manager, the Pastry Assistant will help produce all in-house pastry products for our multiple locations. This is an exciting new chance as a part of the Slo Coffee Team as we continue to expand our operations.

Note: this position requires 1-2 shifts per week with availability on at least two of the following days of the week: Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays, starting November 16th.

Duties:

- Fulfilling pastry orders from our cafe locations on a weekly basis, including scones, cookies, muffins, syrups/sauces, and other creations according to a regular schedule.
- Receiving orders from ingredient suppliers at the commissary location.




- General cleaning and maintenance of the workstation and prep areas.
- Coordinate packaged deliveries with third-party couriers to bring finished products to our locations.
- Recipe testing & development, when required.

Qualifications:

- Food Safe Level 1 Certification (can be completed at beginning of employment).
- General knowledge of food and beverage production and handling.
- Previous experience working in a commissary kitchen is an asset.
- Ability to manage time efficiently to complete tasks.
- Ability to lift ingredients/orders weighing at least 20kg.
- Good attitude.

Wage: $21.50/hr + Company Discounts at our cafe locations

Hours: 8-16 hrs per week

Start Date: no later than November 16th
