Overview

- We are seeking an English Tutor to help learners communicate clearly and confidently in software engineering contexts.
- The tutor will support students in developing practical speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills for technical discussions, project collaboration, and professional communication.
- Lessons may include explaining software concepts in clear English, practicing workplace conversations, reviewing written materials, and building confidence through guided exercises.
- Candidates with experience working with children are welcome, as are applicants who have taught or tutored learners of different ages and skill levels.

Responsibilities

- Plan and deliver engaging, learner-focused English tutoring sessions.
- Teach technical and professional communication skills relevant to software engineering, such as describing code, discussing project requirements, and explaining problem-solving approaches.
- Help learners strengthen English writing skills, including clarity, grammar, organization, and tone.




- Provide constructive feedback and adapt lesson activities to each learner’s goals, proficiency, and learning style.
- Use practical exercises, conversation practice, and relevant reading or writing tasks to reinforce learning.
- Track learner progress and adjust instruction as needed.
- Maintain a supportive, respectful learning setting; classroom experience is helpful.

Experience

- Strong English communication skills and the ability to explain language concepts clearly.
- Experience in tutoring, teaching, or another instructional role is preferred.
- Experience working with children is a plus.
- Classroom experience is an advantage.
- Strong writing skills and attention to grammar, clarity, and organization.
- Familiarity with software engineering or technical communication is beneficial.
- Knowledge of Mandarin, French, Spanish, or Japanese is a plus, but not required.

Pay: $10.00-$15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10.0 – 15.0 per week
