Alberta Precision Saw & Tool Ltd. is an established precision grinding and sharpening company servicing the woodworking and manufacturing industries.

We are looking for a dependable, mechanically inclined individual to join our team as a Shop Helper / Junior Grinding Technician.

This position is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in a machine shop, manufacturing, mechanical repair, or a similar industrial environment who is interested in learning specialized grinding and sharpening skills.

Previous sharpening experience is not required. We will provide hands-on training for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

- Assist technicians with daily grinding and sharpening operations.
- Learn to operate manual and automated grinding equipment.
- Prepare, clean, and inspect saw blades and industrial cutting tools.
- Assist with machine setups, adjustments, and basic maintenance.
- Use measuring tools to check accuracy and quality.
- Sort, identify,



and organize customer tooling.
- Assist with packaging, shipping, and receiving orders.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and protected working environment.
- Perform general shop duties as required.

Qualifications

- Previous machine shop, manufacturing, or mechanical experience is an asset.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work with hands and tools.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to follow instructions and learn new processes.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
- Comfortable working around industrial machinery.
- Willingness to learn and develop technical skills.
- Experience operating grinders, milling machines, or CNC equipment is considered an asset but not required.

Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
