310T Automotive Mechanic

Our client, a leader in repairing and refurbishing transit buses and highway coaches, is looking for a 310T Automotive Mechanic. The ideal Candidate has a great work ethic, puts customers first and wants to be challenged and grow with a dynamic team.

Compensation and Benefits:

- · $85,000+ per year, based on experience

Responsibilities:

- Perform preventative maintenance, inspections and mechanical repairs on transit buses, highway coaches and other heavy-duty vehicles.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical and electronic issues and determine the appropriate repair required.
- Complete major repairs, refurbishments and component replacements, including the disassembly and reassembly of buses when required.
- Troubleshoot and repair engines, drivetrains, braking systems, suspension, air systems and HVAC components.
- Use electronic diagnostic equipment and other testing tools to identify faults and verify repairs.
- Inspect vehicles and equipment, identify deficiencies and complete required repairs to maintain safe operating condition.
- Perform MTO inspections and accurately document deficiencies and required corrective work.
- Adjust, repair, rebuild or replace defective components and machinery as required.




- Test repaired equipment to confirm proper operation and performance.
- Follow preventative maintenance schedules, inspection requirements and established service procedures.
- Maintain accurate records relating to inspections, repairs, maintenance and vehicle condition.
- Work safely and efficiently while maintaining a clean and organized work area.
- Support other mechanical and maintenance requirements as needed within the shop.
- Participate in the maintenance and repair of newer vehicle technologies, including electric bus conversion projects.
- Work collaboratively with other technicians and team members in a fast-paced maintenance setting.

Job Requirements:

- 310T Truck and Coach Technician certification required.
- Minimum 3 years of experience working as a 310T mechanic, heavy-duty truck technician, bus mechanic or similar.
- Strong experience diagnosing and repairing heavy-duty vehicles, preferably including transit buses, highway coaches or commercial trucks.
- Experience with engines, drivetrains, suspension, braking systems, air systems, HVAC and vehicle electrical systems.
- Experience using electronic diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults.
- MTO inspection experience, including identifying and documenting vehicle deficiencies.




- Solid understanding of preventative maintenance and fleet service practices.
- Ability to independently assess mechanical problems and determine an appropriate repair plan.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on safe, reliable vehicle operation.
- Ability to supply and maintain the hand tools required to perform mechanical repairs.
- Comfortable working on large vehicles and performing physically demanding tasks, including prolonged standing, bending and lifting.
- Self-motivated, dependable and able to manage multiple repair requirements in a busy shop environment.
- Safety-focused with a professional and team-oriented approach.
- Legally authorized to work in Canada.

Schedule:

- Monday to Thursday: 6:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- Friday: 6:00 AM – 12:30 PM
- No regular evening, overnight or weekend shifts.
