Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly and dependable Food Counter Attendant to provide welcoming, efficient service in a rapid-paced food service environment. This role includes taking orders, preparing and serving food, processing transactions, and maintaining clean, sanitary work areas. Candidates with food service, restaurant, kitchen, or food industry experience are encouraged to apply.

Duties

- Greet customers, answer questions about menu items, and provide attentive customer service.
- Take orders accurately and process payments using a POS system; experience with Micros POS is a plus but not a must, training can be provided, students are welcome to apply.
- Handle cash and card transactions, provide accurate change, and complete cashiering duties.
- Prepare, assemble, and serve food and beverages according to established service standards.
- Follow proper food handling and food safety practices, including safe storage and temperature procedures.
- Keep counters, kitchen areas, utensils, and equipment clean and sanitary in accordance with sanitation standards.




- Restock supplies and communicate inventory or equipment needs to the appropriate team member.
- Apply basic math and math skills to verify orders, process transactions, and assist with routine tasks.
- Work collaboratively with team members to support smooth service during busy periods.

Qualifications

- Strong communication skills and a courteous, customer-focused approach.
- Ability to follow instructions, maintain attention to detail, and work effectively in a fast-paced setting.
- Basic math skills and comfort handling transactions.
- Willingness to follow food safety, food handling, and sanitation procedures.
- Food service experience, restaurant experience, kitchen experience, or other food industry experience is preferred but not required.
- Experience with food preparation, serving, cashiering, cash handling, or POS systems is an asset.

Pay: $15.00-$18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15.0 – 40.0 per week
