Experience: Minimum 5 years of carpentry exp

We are looking for an experienced, dependable Lead Hand Carpenter to join our team in the Quinte West area.

This position is ideal for a skilled carpenter who is confident working independently, takes pride in their workmanship, and can effectively lead a small team when required. The successful candidate will be comfortable taking ownership of a jobsite, communicating with clients and team members, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

Responsibilities

- Complete a variety of residential carpentry and construction tasks
- Work independently and take responsibility for day-to-day jobsite operations
- Read and interpret plans, measurements, and project specifications
- Coordinate and direct small teams of labourers when required
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite
- Communicate professionally with homeowners, contractors, suppliers, and team members
- Identify potential issues and provide practical solutions
- Ensure projects remain on schedule and work is completed to a high standard
- Assist with material planning, jobsite organization, and general construction duties
- Follow all applicable safety requirements and company procedures

Qualifications

- Minimum 5 years of hands-on carpentry experience
- Strong knowledge of residential construction and general building practices




- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Demonstrated ability to lead and direct a small crew when required
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Professional, reliable, and dependable
- Solid attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship
- Ability to problem-solve and make sound decisions on the jobsite
- Must have your own reliable vehicle
- Must have your own complete set of carpentry tools
- Valid driver’s licence
- Ability to work in a physically demanding construction environment

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone who can show up, take ownership, and get the job done right. This is not a position where you will be closely supervised throughout the day. The successful candidate must be comfortable being the primary person on a jobsite, managing their time, making decisions, and communicating when issues arise.

A positive attitude and the ability to work well with others are just as important as technical skill. You should be someone who can confidently lead by example without needing to be micromanaged.
