G2 Gas Technician – Residential HVAC

On Time HVAC SolutionsBrampton, Orangeville and the Greater Toronto Area, OntarioCAD $20–$30 per hour · Permanent or contract (Sub-Contractor)

We’re hiring a residential gas technician who is as comfortable tracking down an intermittent furnace fault as starting up a new tankless water heater. On service calls, we look for a protected, practical repair first. We explain what failed, what it will take to fix it and what options the homeowner has.

Qualifications

- G2 required. You hold a valid TSSA Gas Technician 2 certificate.
- At least two years of hands-on residential HVAC experience covering installation, service and repair.
- 313D preferred. An Ontario Residential Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic Certificate of Qualification is an asset.
- You can read wiring diagrams and service manuals, use a multimeter and manometer to diagnose faults, and travel to customers’ homes throughout the service area.

What you’ll do

We assign refrigeration and plumbing work according to the trade qualifications you hold.

- Gas furnaces and tankless water heaters. Install, commission, service and repair residential units. Diagnose ignition failures and inconsistent hot water. Check venting, combustion and safety controls before returning equipment to service.
- Heat pumps and central air conditioners. Install and service ducted and ductless heat pumps and central AC systems.

Troubleshoot airflow, thermostat and defrost issues, then verify heating or cooling performance after repairs.
- Water softeners and reverse osmosis (RO) systems. Install and service residential water treatment equipment. Check softener regeneration and treated-water hardness, replace RO filters or membranes as needed, and test connections for leaks.
- Preventive maintenance and homeowner service. Complete seasonal tune-ups and record test readings, parts used and follow-up needs. Show homeowners how to operate their equipment and when filters or other maintenance will be due.
