Vineyard Crew Lead - Fixed Term

Frind Winery Ltd. is seeking 2 Vineyard Crew Leads to work in our vineyards located in Kelowna on a fixed term contract from February 1, 2027 - December 31, 2029.

- Position: Vineyard Crew Lead
- Number of Positions: 2
- Employment Period: Fixed Term - February 1, 2027 - December 31, 2029
- Hours: Full time, 40–60 hours per week, depending on the season and operational requirements
- Wage: $22.00 per hour
- Work Locations: Kelowna, BC

Responsibilities:

- Supervise growing and other crop-related activities, including but not limited to pruning, tying, thinning, and canopy management, to meet established quality standards.
- Coordinate, assign, and supervise agricultural workers in daily vineyard operations.
- Develop work schedules and maintain accurate records of employees’ working hours for payroll entries, labour reporting, and other operational and administrative purposes.
- Train and guide agricultural workers in proper canopy management and harvesting techniques, procedures, and safety practices.
- Perform vineyard canopy management tasks and crop-related activities as required.
- Implement and Coordinate irrigation, fertilization, and spray programs to maintain vine health and crop quality.
- Demonstrate and maintain proficiency in vineyard equipment operation, pruning, soil and irrigation management, canopy management, pest and disease control, vineyard establishment, harvesting, and grapevine identification.
- Operate vineyard equipment, troubleshoot equipment and irrigation issues, and promptly report required repairs.
- Operate machinery as required.




- Perform and coordinate vineyard sampling and scouting as required.
- Establish and follow safe work procedures and ensure vineyard staff comply with occupational health and safety requirements.
- Report work progress and estimated completion times for assigned tasks to the Vineyard Foreman, Central.

Skills and Qualifications:

- 2 years experience working in vineyards or related experience in agriculture, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to motivate teams to perform to their maximum level of productivity.
- Must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job which include farm labour, lifting up to 50 lbs, operating machinery, etc. and ability to work in all weather conditions.
- Proficiency in Spanish is considered an asset.
- Current First Aid Certificate is an asset.
- Basic computer proficiency and spreadsheet skills are considered an asset.
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License in good standing or International Driver’s Licence is considered an asset.
