Job title: Senior Oracle DBA

Built ExaCC from the ground up and moved real workloads onto it? A leading organization in the energy and utilities sector wants you to do it again — as the hands-on DBA behind its new enterprise database platform. This is a 12-month contract (November 2026 to November 2027) on a multi-year initiative to implement and operationalize Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer as the enterprise database platform for multiple applications and business services. You won't be maintaining someone else's setup. You'll take ExaCC from provisioning and readiness checks through database migration, onboarding, stabilization and the handover to production operations. Working onsite in Calgary 4 days a week, you'll partner closely with application owners and project stakeholders, run migrations and cutovers, and build the high-availability and DR foundation the business will rely on for years. Senior Oracle DBA Responsibilities

- Implement and operate ExaCC end to end, from provisioning and readiness checks to production handover, including OCI tenancy administration
- Plan and run Oracle database migrations: assessment, method selection, rehearsal, validation, cutover, rollback and post-migration stabilization with app owners
- Build and troubleshoot GoldenGate replication and Data Guard standby environments, including switchover, failover and DR testing
- Patch, upgrade, back up,



recover and performance-tune Oracle RAC databases on Exadata
- Set up operational readiness with OEM monitoring, automation scripts, runbooks, change and incident processes, and clear status reporting

Senior Oracle DBA Qualifications
Must Have

- Hands-on end-to-end implementation and operation of Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer (mandatory)
- 7+ years of Oracle DBA experience with RAC, ASM, Clusterware, patching, upgrades and backup/recovery
- Advanced performance tuning (SQL, wait events, I/O, Exadata features)
- Proven Oracle database migration and cutover delivery, including rollback planning and post-migration stabilization
- GoldenGate (Extract/Replicat, initial loads, lag, abends, resync) and Data Guard (switchover, failover, DR testing) expertise

Nice to Have

- Experience onboarding multiple applications and business services onto a shared enterprise database platform
- Strong scripting and automation skills for database operations
- Track record of change, incident and security/audit discipline in production environments
- Oracle or OCI certifications
