Director of Finance & Accounting

Handy Bros Home Comfort | Southwestern Ontario | Full-time

Handy Bros Home Comfort is growing, and we’re looking for a finance leader who wants to help build what comes next.

This is a hands-on leadership role. You’ll own the accuracy of our financial reporting, lead the accounting function, and give our leadership team a transparent view of cash flow, profitability, and performance across the business. You’ll also improve the systems and processes behind those numbers as we grow.

Income 140,000 - 180,000 base, PLUS bonuses.

We’re looking for someone who is curious, practical, and comfortable challenging the way things have always been done.

What you’ll own

- Lead the accounting team and oversee month-end close, financial statements, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Build budgets, forecasts, and cash flow plans that help us make timely decisions.
- Analyze gross margin and profitability by job, product, department, and branch.
- Strengthen inventory accounting, purchasing controls, and financial processes.
- Work with operations and sales leaders to understand what the numbers are telling us and turn those insights into action.
- Improve reporting tools, systems, and automation so information is accurate and easy to use.
- Coordinate with external accountants, tax advisors, banks, and other financial partners.
- Develop the people, processes, and controls needed to support a growing, multi-location company.

What you bring

- A degree in accounting, finance, commerce, business administration, or a related field.
- A CPA designation is strongly preferred.




- Significant experience in accounting and financial leadership, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and cash flow management.
- Experience in a growing, operationally complex business. Trades, construction, home services, distribution, or a multi-location company would be especially relevant.
- The ability to get into the details, identify problems, and build a better way of working.
- Strong communication skills. You can explain financial performance clearly to leaders who do not work in finance.
- Confidence with financial systems, data, and new technology.
