Winter Sidewalk Crew Member – Seasonal / On-Call

The Gardener is looking for reliable and hardworking individuals to join our Winter Sidewalk Crew for the upcoming snow season.

This is an ON-CALL position. Winter work is weather-dependent, and employees must be available when snow and ice events occur. This can include overnight shifts, early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours during major storms.

This is a seasonal winter position, with the potential for successful employees to continue into full-time, year-round employment with our landscaping and property maintenance teams.

Availability Requirements

- Must have reliable on-call availability throughout the winter season.
- Applicants must be able to report to work when called for snow and ice events, including during overnight, early morning, weekend, and holiday hours.
- School, another job, or other commitments cannot interfere with required winter availability.
- Must have reliable transportation to report to work when required.
- Must understand that hours will vary depending on weather conditions. Some weeks may have limited hours, while active winter weather can require long and consecutive shifts.

Qualifications & Requirements

- Full G license with clean driving record and ability to confidently pull trailers
- Able to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Good verbal communication skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to respond when called into work.
- Works well as part of a team.
- Able to work independently after receiving instructions.
- Physically fit and capable of performing demanding outdoor work.
- Comfortable working outside in snow, freezing temperatures, wind,



and other challenging winter conditions.
- Able to work extended hours when required during significant snow and ice events.
- Previous snow removal, landscaping, or property maintenance experience is an asset but not required.

Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour
