A busy entrepreneur who runs several companies is looking for a creative, switched-on right hand to help build Maneframe, a media platform and app for professional hairstylists and salon owners. Maneframe brings together an app, a magazine, a newsletter, and a podcast, all aimed at helping stylists grow their careers and businesses.
You’ll own much of Maneframe’s social media and community-building and help get more stylists and salons using the app. You’ll also work alongside him day to day, including driving a company vehicle to salons, meetings, and industry events across the GTA.
This role starts hands-on and grows as Maneframe does. Over time, you’ll move toward coordinating and reviewing the work of a growing team and keeping him informed on what’s moving. The person in the role today started the same way.
What you’ll do
- Meet first thing everyday and drive the CEO to his meetings and appointments through out the day
- Support the app’s growth: announcements, onboarding content, and gathering feedback from stylists and salons
- Help promote and coordinate Maneframe’s newsletter, podcast, and magazine content
- Support salon outreach: calls, follow-ups, and mailouts, tracked in Excel/Google Sheets
- Support brand partners and advertisers with content and follow-through
- Capture content at salons, events, and behind the scenes
- Help coordinate day-to-day projects and deadlines
- Over time, help oversee and review the work of contractors and team members, and report on progress
- Drive a company vehicle to salons, meetings, events, and errands, and work closely with the principal throughout the day
- Handle confidential information with discretion
What we’re looking for
- Strong social media skills: you know what works on Instagram and TikTok, and you can show it (personal, freelance,
or professional accounts all count)
- Comfortable shooting and editing short-form video and photos, using tools like CapCut, Canva, or similar
- Good eye for visuals, style, and trends, ideally in beauty, hair, fashion, or lifestyle
- Comfortable talking with stylists and salon owners, by phone and in person
- Organized, reliable, and good with people; you follow up and keep projects moving
- Quick learner who takes initiative and follows through without being chased
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Valid Ontario G licence and a clean driving record (recent driver’s abstract required; must be insurable)
- Comfortable driving the GTA: 401/407/QEW, downtown, night and winter conditions
- Lives within a 20-30 minute commute of Islington Ave & Burnhamthorpe Rd, Etobicoke, and can reliably get to the start point on time
- Discreet, punctual, and professional; able to pass a background check (with consent, after a conditional offer)
- Legally able to work in Canada
- 2 skilled references
Nice to have
- Experience in the hair, beauty, salon, or media industry
- Experience launching or promoting an app or digital product
- Experience with newsletters, podcasts, or email marketing
- Experience with scheduling tools, analytics, or paid social ads
- Experience coordinating or reviewing the work of others
- Sales, customer service, or relationship-building experience
- Prior assistant or coordinator experience
- First Aid/CPR
Work location: In person
Pay: $22.00-$27.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
Application question(s):
- Do you have a valid Ontario G License?
- Are you comfortable driving on 400 series highways? (ie.401/400/QEW/DVP)
- Do you have prior Social Media Marketing experience?
- Can you reliably get to Islington and Burnhamthorpe in Etobicoke within 20 mins?
