Our client, an established custom fixture and gauge manufacturer in the Windsor-Essex area, is looking for an experienced Fixture Builder to join its team.

This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who can take a set of customer prints and independently machine, fit, troubleshoot and complete a custom fixture or gauge.

For an experienced builder ready for additional responsibility, there is also an prospect to step into a hands-on Fixture Leader role.

What You'll Be Doing

- Take ownership of custom fixture and gauge builds from customer prints through final completion
- Manage assigned work against required delivery dates
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings and GD&T;
- Perform hands-on machining using milling machines, lathes and surface grinders
- Fit and assemble fixture and gauge components
- Troubleshoot machining, fit and build issues as they arise
- Identify potential problems early and work through practical solutions
- Apply practical knowledge of CNC machining and CMM capabilities as part of the overall build process
- Provide hands-on guidance to apprentices or less experienced builders as required

What We're Looking For

- Strong hands-on fixture and/or gauge building experience
- Demonstrated ability to take a build from prints through completion with limited supervision
- Strong blueprint reading and practical GD&T; knowledge
- Hands-on machining experience with mills, lathes and surface grinders




- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
- Ability to take ownership of jobs and work toward required delivery dates
- General familiarity with CNC machining and an understanding of CMM capabilities
- Approximately 5+ years of relevant experience preferred, with 7+ years considered ideal
- Reliable, accountable and comfortable working independently
- Collaborative and approachable, with the ability to work effectively in a smaller shop environment

Candidates with strong fixture-building fundamentals who are ready to take the next step into leadership are also encouraged to apply.

This is not a production CNC operator or CNC programming position. The focus is hands-on, start-to-finish fixture and gauge building.

Schedule and Overtime

Regular hours are Monday-Friday, 6:00am-2:30pm.

When workload requires, overtime may include extended weekday hours and occasional Saturday work.

Shop Environment

You'll be joining a small, established manufacturing team in a clean, climate-controlled shop. The work is primarily aluminum-based, with experienced builders given considerable independence and ownership over their projects.
