Position Title: Sprinkler Fitter (Fly in - Fly out)

Salary Range: $60/hr plus OT after 8 hours per day

About the Client and Role

We are currently seeking an experienced and certified Sprinkler Fitter for a short-term project assignment at one of our client’s mining operations. In this role, you will inspect existing fire protection systems, troubleshoot deficiencies, and recommend or perform necessary repairs to the dry pipe valve, sprinkler system, backflow preventers, diesel fire pump, and pump controller. This is a camp-based opportunity, with flights, accommodations, meals, and lodging provided for the duration of the assignment. A criminal background check, references, and medical clearance are required.

This role provides technical support and coaching to assist the department and the company to strive to achieve their goals of "ZERO HARM"

Main Accountabilities/ Scope of work

Fire Protection System Inspection and Repairs:

- Assess existing fire protection systems, troubleshoot ongoing issues, and provide recommendations for repairs
- Dry Pipe Valve: Inspect existing 3" LISLE dry pipe valve and recommend a suitable replacement, or the ability to install the new valve
- Sprinkler System: Inspect associated piping, valves, compressors, and equipment for deficiencies
- Backflow Preventers: Inspect, test, and certify existing backflow prevention assemblies
- Diesel Fire Pump: Inspect and assess the diesel fire pump, including engine operation, starting system, batteries, and associated equipment
- Fire Pump Controller: Troubleshoot the existing diesel fire pump controller, including alarms, faults, battery charging circuits, and wiring
- Additional Issues: Identify any other deficiencies or required maintenance

Main Qualifications:

- Must be a certified Journeyman Sprinkler Fitter performing or directly supervising the sprinkler system work.
- Must be capable of performing sprinkler fitting work, including modifying, fabricating,



and installing sprinkler piping, fittings, and valves.
- Must have qualified personnel experienced in diesel fire pumps, backflow testing, and fire pump control systems.
- Previous experience as a Fire Suppression Technician, preferably in a mining, industrial, heavy equipment, or mobile equipment environment.
- Knowledge of fire suppression systems used on heavy mobile equipment, including installation, inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair procedures.
- Familiarity with applicable fire safety codes, regulations, and manufacturer specifications related to fire suppression systems.
