Downtown Toronto · Full-time, permanent · $70,000 to $90,000/year + performance bonus

We’re an established, independent neighbourhood pub in downtown Toronto. We’re looking for a hands-on General Manager to run the whole operation: bar, floor, and kitchen. Food quality is our priority for the year ahead. We want someone with real kitchen experience who has moved into management and knows how to lift a pub menu, hold standards, and control costs.

What you’ll do

- Lead day-to-day operations across front of house, bar, and kitchen during our busiest times (will require evenings and weekends)
- Work with the kitchen manager and cooks to improve food quality, consistency, and ticket times, and to develop a menu that suits a pub crowd
- Own prime cost: food and liquor costing, ordering, inventory, and labour scheduling against sales
- Hire, train, and lead a team of about 20–30 staff
- Complete weekly reporting (sales, labour, cash, and purchases) using our established systems
- Keep the guest experience, reviews, and our reputation in the neighbourhood solid
- Ensure compliance with AGCO, health and safety, and employment standards

What you bring





- 3+ years in restaurant management (GM, AGM, or kitchen manager)
- Hands-on kitchen leadership experience (sous chef, kitchen manager, or chef), preferably in pub, gastropub, or high-volume casual dining
- A record of managing food cost and labour, with numbers to show for it
- Confidence with spreadsheets and POS reporting
- Availability for evenings and weekends. Two consecutive days off, typically midweek
- Smart Serve certification, plus Food Handler certification or a willingness to obtain it
