Shipper / Counterbalance Forklift Operator

Avery HR is hiring a dependable, detail-oriented Shipper / Counterbalance Forklift Operator to support shipping operations in a rapid-paced manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for someone who can safely operate a counterbalance forklift, accurately interpret shipping documents, and help ensure orders are prepared and shipped on time. Experience in the corrugated industry is preferred. Located near Queensway & The East Mall.

Shift: Days, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Overtime and weekends: Required as needed

Wage: $24 to $25 per hour

Responsibilities

- Prepare, organize, and move products for shipment.
- Operate a counterbalance forklift to move materials safely and efficiently.
- Read and interpret factory tickets, shipping documents, and work instructions.
- Verify shipping information and use a tape measure and basic math skills to support accurate order preparation.
- Prioritize shipping tasks to meet tight deadlines.
- Communicate shipping issues, discrepancies, and important information to the Supervisor.
- Identify problems, gather information, and use sound judgment to help resolve issues.




- Maintain a safe, organized work area and support daily shipping operations.
- Work independently and collaboratively with team members to keep shipments moving efficiently.

Qualifications

- Valid Counterbalance forklift certification is required.
- Minimum three years shipping or warehouse experience is required.
- Experience in the corrugated industry is an asset.
- Fluent English communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Basic math skills and the ability to read a tape measure.
- Basic computer skills are an asset.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to follow instructions, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Willingness to work overtime and weekends when required.

Two employment references are required.

Pay: $24.00-$25.00 per hour
