Job Summary

Loewen Mechanical is seeking a skilled and reliable Journeyman Plumber or Pipefitter to join our growing team. We specialize in commercial construction projects including new construction, renovations, boiler systems, hydronic heating, and gas installations throughout the Winnipeg and surrounding areas.

The ideal candidate is experienced in commercial mechanical systems, capable of working independently, and committed to delivering high-quality workmanship while maintaining a safe and professional job site.

Details

- Position: Journeyman Plumber / Pipefitter
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Requirements

- Red Seal Journeyman Plumber or Pipefitter certification
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
- Reliable transportation to various job sites throughout Winnipeg and surrounding areas
- Strong knowledge of commercial plumbing, piping, and hydronic heating systems
- Experience working on boiler systems
- Experience working with a welder in commercial mechanical applications
- Experience with gas systems and gas-fired equipment
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and mechanical drawings

- Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Experience in commercial renovations and tenant improvement projects
- High level of mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Strong understanding of Manitoba plumbing, gas, and mechanical codes
- Commitment to job site safety and quality workmanship
- Positive attitude and strong communication skills





Responsibilities

- Install, maintain, and repair commercial plumbing, piping, and hydronic heating systems
- Complete rough-in and finish installations according to code and specifications
- Install boilers, hydronic heating systems, and related mechanical equipment
- Assist with piping fabrication, assembly, and welding-related tasks
- Install and test gas piping systems and gas-fired equipment
- Coordinate work efficiently with project managers, site supervisors, and other trades
- Interpret drawings and layouts to plan and execute work effectively
- Ensure all work complies with applicable plumbing, gas, and safety regulations
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Represent the company professionally on job sites
