Kingsway Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is a first-class non-hospital surgical facility that has been providing exceptional surgical care for more than 60 years. With multiple surgeons on site, Kingsway is a busy, fast-paced practice offering a unique chance for an RDA who wants to expand their skills in a specialized surgical workplace.
We're looking for a Full-Time Registered Dental Assistant who wants more than a traditional dental assisting role.
Whether you're an experienced RDA looking for a new challenge or a newer graduate eager to build your clinical skills, we want to hear from you. We value experience and are prepared to offer highly competitive compensation that reflects the skills, experience, and qualifications you bring to the role.
Why Kingsway?
This isn't your typical dental assisting position.
You'll work alongside our surgeons and experienced clinical team, assisting with patient consultations, surgical procedures, post-operative care, and all aspects of providing excellent patient experiences.
You'll also have the opportunity to expand your skills beyond a traditional dental setting, including accompanying our surgeons to an acute-care facility as a surgical assistant. Extensive training is provided.
What You'll Do
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assist surgeons during clinical and surgical procedures
- Prepare surgical rooms using appropriate sterile techniques
- Take and process dental radiographs
- Support patient consultations and maintain accurate clinical documentation
- Provide patient comfort and education
- Maintain exceptional infection prevention and sterilization standards
- Prepare surgical documentation and patient records
- Complete post-surgical patient follow-up calls
- Assist our surgeons in an acute-care setting following completion of required training
- Work collaboratively with our surgical and administrative teams to provide exceptional patient care
What We're Looking For
- Registered Dental Assistant license in Alberta (required)
- Professional, compassionate, and patient-focused approach
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to thrive in a busy, team-oriented clinical environment
- Adaptability and a willingness to learn
- Commitment to exceptional patient care
- CPR/BLS certification preferred
- New graduates and experienced RDAs are both encouraged to apply
Experience in oral surgery or another surgical/specialty environment is an asset but not required. We provide extensive training for the right candidate.
Compensation & Benefits
We believe experience should be recognized.
We offer highly competitive compensation based on experience, qualifications, and relevant clinical skills. Experienced RDAs are strongly encouraged to apply. We are prepared to recognize extensive RDA, surgical, or specialty experience when determining compensation.
Travel
This position is based in Edmonton and includes occasional travel with other members of our team to our Grande Prairie satellite location, typically 3-4 times per year for approximately one week (Monday-Friday).
Include a cover letter and copy of RDA certification with your application.
We would like to thank all candidates who apply; however, only those meeting the requirements may be contacted for an interview.
